Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the answers to a few frequently asked questions:

NEW SPEECHES

1. How long will it take to write a new speech?

We will e-mail the new speech to you within 7-10 working days from the date when we received proof of payment.

Please send an e-mail to info@redenaars.co.za if you are interested in a new sole-right speech.

2. How do I know that new speeches comply with the requirements of the ATKV Redenaars or similar competition?

Our Chief Editor, who has been in the industry for more than 20 years and has been involved on various levels at the ATKV, goes through each new speech to evaulate it and approve it.  She checks each new speech to make sure that it is up to the current standard.

3. Is there a risk that someone else will have the same new speech as me?

  • All new speeches are written specifically according to order.
  • All new speeches are available for sole use (nationwide) for the public speaking season for which they were bought (max 12 months).
  • All speeches remain the property of Redenaars.co.za and will be loaded to our website as  example speeches after the end of the period of sole right .
  • Please take note of the disclaimer on the "New Speeches" page.
  • Please visit our frequently asked questions page for more information.

4. How long is the waiting list for new speeches?

Between October and March of every year the waiting list is about 8 to 12 weeks long becasue of the high demand for new speeches.  The waiting list, if any, will be shorter the rest of the time.

5. How do I know that the speech will suit the speaker?

During the order process you will have the opportunity to formulate a topic and tell us as much background information as you can about the speaker and the arguments you would like included in the speech.  The more information you send us, the better we can write the speech to suit the speaker.  If you choose not to supply any information, we can unfortunately not take any responsibility for the outcome.

Example speeches are meant to serve as examples.  In other words, you must edit the speech by including your own ideas, otherwise you / the speaker will risk presenting a duplicate speech.

No, all speeches remain the intellectual property of Redenaars.co.za and therefore you may not re-sell a speech to someone else without our express written permission.

Unfortunately not.  Due to the fact that example speeches are made available electronically, the risk of unauthorised distribution is too great. Example speeches are however offered at a more than 50% discount (compared to new speeches) and therefore we accept that the summary provided in the discription is enough to be able to decide if the topic is applicable.

EDITING

1. How does the editing of speeches work?

Our expert writers will check and edit your speech at a maximum cost of R350 for one round of editing and R400 for two rounds! (We ask that customers first send us the speech to be edited so that we can see if it will be possible to edit it and to see how much editing will be necessary. The less editing is necessary the more we reduce the price.)

The editing service means that we will go through your speech and report back to you whether:

  • The chosen topic is on standard
  • The speech is persuasive or not
  • The speech adheres to the ATKV standards or similar standards
  • The right structure has been used
  • Enough sources have been used to support the arguments
  • Grammar use is correct, and
  • The level and content is appropriate for the child's developmental stage.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLOWING:

1. All speeches must be sent in Microsoft Word 97/2003 format to info@redenaars.co.za.

2. Editing takes a minimum of 5 working days.

3. Editing does NOT mean that we will write the speech for you - we will only provide feedback on the piece of writing which you send to us.  Please understand it as an adjudication / evaluation of the speech - not as a re-write.
